Day Out in Bolivia

So we arrived at the meeting place for the bus 10 mins late - and the people kept coming and coming.  The bus we had hired was one of the micros that go around town - the ones that seat about 20 people .... there were at least 50 of us but the more the merrier! There were at least 2 people on most seats and the rest were jammed in wherever there was space.  Some arrived by the river later so when we came home - there was alot more!  On the way home, I was in a small seat behind the driver (who btw when he returned to pick us all up - bought his wife? along for a ride so we had another extra person) and had 2 bags and an umbrella on me plus a sleeping child and then part of the way another child was sleeping on my leg!  But everyone was equally squashed, sitting or standing.  Was hard case

On the way there - squashy!  Can you see that Belen is sitting on Maria who is sitting on Anna!

Yip we had this dog on our bus - you can take them on taxis too but you can take anything you want on a taxi - a fridge, coffin or bed or a whole lounge suite!
We had great weather - was so hot and lots of fun with our congregation.  We played lots of running games, some of the boys played soccer and we played card games as well.  After lunch - we went down to the river and lots had a swim.  Then more games before we went to get back on our bus.

On the way we stopped in a little village called San Lorenzo to get some snacks and coal for the BBQ

Playing games with the Kids - this one 2 people have to go around the circle and pick a link that they want to break and then those 2 people have to race them round the circle back and try to get back to space first

These two kept yelling out 'Aqui!' (Here!)  They wanted to be 'It'.  They were the type of games you played at school and the kids loved it - it was fun :)

Our BBQ

A big piece of meat for a little guy!

Swimming in the River

This little one lost one of his jandals - Maria and a few others went down the river to look for it but I don't think anyone found it - he looked so sad!

We got our hair braided, so much time - Gregoria is one of 8 kids - I think they are all girls - no wonder she can do these cool plaits!

One of our bubby's

A few more games before we leave
Heading back to our bus
Squashy!!  Fortunately there was a van going out the same time so a few were able to get off and go on that - we got a tiny bit more room :)

Our lovely brothers and sisters don't have alot materially and they are proof of what the Bible says that you don't need lots of material things to be happy and that true happiness does not come from what we possess.  These kids don't have ipods, xbox's or the latest toys but they have lots of fun regardless - with the simple things like running around in the field, playing games.
