Tucuman and Salta

We got to Tucuman at about 7 pm.  The dad of the host family picked us up.  He had a station wagon and it could only fit our suitcases, so he put our backpacks all on top of the car.  They all have lots of clips on them so Maria clipped them on to the roof racks and we had our hands out the window holding them in!

We stayed with Walter and Fatima and their 12 year old son, Gonzalo.  They were very hospitable to us.  They had their mid-week meeting on at 8pm and we got dropped off to their house about 7:30pm, they showed us where everything was and said if we wanted to come to the meeting, they would come back for us.  We had showers and then went to the meeting, it was nice to be there.  After the meeting we talked in our spanglish, getting to know different ones.

We went home with our family and they cooked us dinner.  It was yum, Milenesa (crumbed schnitzel) with herbs and looked like mozzarella cheese and tomato on top, with rice - so we have been eating spanish style food.  They do catering - the front of the house is like a shop and then out the back is their home, it was very comfortable.

This morning, our bus to Salta was delayed about an hour and a half but we managed to get on one that came earlier.  We arrrived at 3:30 and got a taxi to the Hostel de Linda 2 - a backpackers that is right around the corner from the Dragon Rojo - a van that we will catch at 5am tomorrow morning that will take us finally to Bolivia.  It is a 10 hour trip - and I don't think as comfortable as the buses as it is just a van.  We are looking forward to getting to Bolivia and seeing our friends.

Here are some photos of our travels so far:
